THE VOICE OF BLESSED PETER TOROT
- PREAMBLE
- 1.1 The Catholic Community of Papua New Guinea, recognizing its task of contributing to the total human development of people and being aware of the importance of spiritual and social welfare of the people, establishes The Voice of Blessed Peter ToRot Association Inc.
- 1.2 The Catholic Community of Papua New Guinea realizes the potential of Radio, Television and others forms of mass communication as a means of Evangelization and development of Papua New Guinea.
- OBJECTS AND PURPOSES
- 2.1 In addition to the basic objects and purposes of the association, the objects and purposes of the association shall also include:
- (a) To promote spiritual and moral values Blessed Peter Torot lived and died for.
(b) To promote the cause for the canonization of Blessed Peter Torot.
(c) To provide resources and the opportunity for on-going spiritual, personal renewal and formation for lay people.
(d) To ensure that materials of historical significance that have been documented are preserved in the Archives.
(e) To create awareness about the potential of an electronic and print media as a valuable tool for religious, cultural and social development of the country.- (f) To provide venue and opportunities for the following activities:
- a venue for religious/spiritual conferences,
- accessibility for research and formation,
- production of TV/radio/internet documentaries,
- enhance better collaboration of lay and religious
- enhance greater ecumenical cooperation.
- The interim membership:

Archdiocese of Port Moresby,
Diocese of Bereina,
Possible any organization belonging to Catholic Church of PNG & SI,
The are possible associated membership of other Christian Churches, especially for the Television Section of VPTR.

- Expected results/outcome:
Lay people will grow in the knowledge and understanding about their faith through the example, life and witness of Blessed Peter ToRot and his spirituality.
The recognition by the Church of the holiness of Blessed Peter ToRot through his canonization.
Lay people are inspired and deepened in their faith, by the qualities, values and total commitment to a life of serving others in the church and community.
There is more understanding and acceptance in the spirit of ecumenism.
